John Walling

John Walling and his family had moved to Texas in 1834.  He received a Spanish Land Grant # 53 in 1835.  He served in a Company of Nacogdoches Volunteers in the spring and summer. In January 1836 his sons John, Thomas and Jesse Walling went to Nacogdoches, Texas, where they took an oath of allegiance to the Texas government and took part in the Texas Revolution  with Captain Peck’s company.
