“A little Indian Irony” Henry (John Henry) Lentz, father of Jacob Gabriel Lentz, participated in a military expedition against the Cherokee Nation in South Carolina.  He later married Sevilla, a Cherokee woman.  Their son, Jacob Gabriel (1/2 Cherokee) was later killed by Tonkawa Indians in Bastrop County, Texas, while trying to recover horses stolen by the Indians.
